Copper Sink

Today while scouring the web on lunch I decided on a whim that I would search for our kitchen sink.  Early on in the home building talks we I decided that I had to have a farm sink.

Have you seen them? I mean seriously they are gorgeous. They are all over the web pinterest. After finally convincing my hubby that a farm sink was the way to go for our country home I got the OK to start my search.

We have done a few pop in's at the home depot but nothing caught my eye- even after checking out their website.

Aaron even found a few in copper that he loved but we let go of that idea right away because we "heard" the costs started at about $4,000.  I mean really. Are. You. Kidding. Me!!

So like I said on a whim today I got a hair up my bum to start searching the web myself in hopes that something would pop out and catch my eye.

I originally searched a few porceline sinks since I heard they were somewhat affordable, scratch resistant, and beautiful in general.  I looked at a few of the porceline ones and then decided to just "see" just how much these copper ones were and look what I found.

Isn't it beautiful.  I love the feminine floral detailing.  Even the hubbs approves and stated that "Well, a sink is a focal point in the kitchen, I think I can live with that!"  Hopefully next month sometime this sink will be mine!!

Yippeee.... Has anyone else been this excited when picking out accessories in their new home??  Or am I just crazy?

How Do You Solve a Problem Like Maria....

Choosing the new Maria that is.  For the Sound of Music.  Yes. You hear me correctly!
They are making a new "Sound of Music" and I could not be more ecstatic!!

Call me crazy but I love me some sound of music.  The music, the story line, the characters.  Just one of those all time perfect in every way kind of movies/ musicals.

And guess what?  They picked none other than my most favorite country music singer Carrie Underwood to play her.  I am so thrilled for her to be given such the honor to play the next Maria following Mrs. Julie Andrews. (She's still amazing!)

“Speaking for everyone at NBC, we couldn't be happier to have the gifted Carrie Underwood take up the mantle of the great Maria von Trapp,” said NBC Entertainment Chairman Bob Greenblatt in a news release. “She was an iconic woman who will now be played by an iconic artist.”

Are you going to be anxiously awaiting the movie to come out like me?  Are you even more excited to see it on the big screen?

Because You're Mine I Walk the Line: Our First Look

There is a new trend on the blogosphere and in the world of weddings called the "First Look."  When I first heard of it I knew it was something I wanted to do on our wedding day.  No doubt about it.  I knew that I would be a nervous wreck and I just loved the idea of seeing my sweet honey before the hustle and bustle of the wedding day events started.

A few pictures that melted my heart were taken from none other than the weddingbee.  If your planning a wedding and haven't checked them out ...go. Now.   (Well, after you finish my post) You wont be sorry!!

Once again. I will let the pictures tell the story.  The moment that Aaron and I got to share with one another was truly so special I can't even describe it.  I will never forget the moment that I finally got to see my groom on our wedding day and he see me in my dress.

First we were instructed to grab hands outside of the door.....

Then wait while 978,000 pictures were taken and I tried to keep my cool and cry face from forming but it wasn't happening.

I finally got it together for the last shot

The positioned my handsome groom and he was told to wait while I went back inside.  Grrr...

Then it was time...

I inched closer and closer

and closer...

and closer.

Until finally I was right behind the love of my life.  Tap.  Tap.  Tap.

"Hey Handsome"
"Hey Gorgeous"
No, I really don't remember but we said but it was something along those lines... he he.

And then the cry face came back.. boo.

And we checked each other out.  And I showed him my boots!!

And we kissed one last time before we were to become husband and wife.

But, that's not all.  There's more to come in the next post when we exchange our gifts!!

If your a bride to be are you planning on doing a trendy first look or are you sticking with tradition and waiting to see your groom when you make your way down the aisle??

DWTS Winner

Though I haven't followed the show this entire season I watched it enough to know who I was rooting for.  Shawn Johnson is just too cute for words and seems like such a sweetheart, so she had my vote right away.

I also have long been a fan of Melissa Rycroft since she was on the Bachelor. So I'd say all in all I was cheering for them both.

Last night on the final episode and they were both left standing on the podium I was secretly hoping that Sean would take it but also for Melissa since she hadn't one one of those fancy trophy's yet.

When it came time and they announced Melissa and Tony as the winner I think everyone was in shock.  But also, I think everyone was happy for them too.

Did anyone else was DWTS? Who were you rooting for and did it shock you that Melissa took the gold??

This land was made for you and me!!!

I recently read an article that Forbes posted on Yahoo.com about general guidelines to follow when you buy a home.  As most of you know, Aaron and I are in the process of having a home a built in the very near future so any information I can find on choosing, building, or buying a home I try to read.  Since this is all new to us, I want to be as informed and educated as possible.

The first most important thing that Aaron and I had to discuss was where do we want to live?  This was  tough one because I love The Woodlands/ Spring area while Aaron really loves the country. Doesn't matter where just country.  We both wanted land.  I had thought just an acre or two, whereas he was set on about 3 to 5.  So we decided that we would start looking for land after we got married.

We went and visited a few lots in the Willis and Conroe area and really liked them, but most had been sitting for almost a year without a budge in the pricing and we both thought that they were overpriced which turned out to be pretty accurate.

After a couple more months of searching the Internet and taking random trips out to the boonies to locate the random plots of land we finally came across one that both of us agreed on.  It was in what I would call a neighborhood- like setting but with a country feel and the best part, only 10 minutes away from our favorite people, my nephew and my sister and brother in law.

The neighborhood was only a few years old and was deed restricted which we both preferred. (got to keep those home values up) It was also reasonable priced and a fairly square plot which we had wanted.

All it all it was a win win except for one thing that we kept going back to.  There are two main drains that go directly through the middle of the land forming a T.

Take a look and you'll understand.

See what I mean?

After searching and searching other places we really just feel in love with the land- gully's and all so we put in an offer and within a week our offer was accepted!!

Now its time to pick a house!!!  Hopefully that will be easier!
